As seasons change and temperatures drop, it seems ever more present that the pure beauty of nature creeps into our homes and balances designs with its color palette. Whether it’s a trendy winter color of 2020 that’s brand new to the market or a timeless winter color that comes back year after year, there are plenty of ways to integrate some new winter colors into your home design.
We’re featuring three of our favorite winter colors of 2020 and providing you with some inspiration to incorporate these colors into your home permanently. Whether you choose to renovate a room or add some new paint and furniture, you’ll be able to get these looks in your home with a little bit of work and some fresh inspiration! We found these winter colors in deep gray moody clouds, the natural beauty of wood, and the ocean.
Just like moody gray clouds, dark gray has a way of intensifying a design and elevating the overall look. From monochromatic design schemes that use gray in a range of shades to create the perfect aesthetic to a pop of gray on an otherwise simple wall, gray can be used in a variety of ways to achieve a beautiful design that’s both timeless and trendy.

Dark gray cabinets with gold pulls and knobs shine in this large kitchen with an island. While this design features many shades of gray, it’s pulled together by the pretty accents and considerable amount of natural light. The dark gray trend is perfect in kitchens because there are simply so many ways to dress it up or down.

A dark gray accent wall behind the headboard in this bedroom amplifies the beauty of the dark gray color. Varying textures of dark gray like a fuzzy rug, tufted bench, and smooth gray sheets have a way of strengthening the overall design and making it feel cool and cozy.
Inspired by the deep blue water of the ocean, the color blue can be found in many facets of our lives. Use it as part of your whole-home color scheme in a deep navy for a classic or lavish look, or use it here and there for some added color in a space that’s mostly comprised of neutrals. You can’t go wrong, as this year’s winter color blue has proven it’s a trend that’s here to stay.

Complemented by other neutrals on all sides, this blue nightstand grounds the surrounding bedroom design while also heightening other colors. Clean lines, a touch of greenery, and varying materials help make this blue piece of furniture a beautiful addition to the room.
While it may not be a typical color on the color spectrum, natural wood lends itself as one of our favorite winter colors of 2020 because of its ability to bring a unique touch to interior design. Both a material and a color, natural wood has a way of making a home feel warm, rustic, and charming. Whether it’s a touch of natural wood on a coffee table, a home full of natural oak hardwood flooring, or simply a piece of wooden décor, there is no end to the beauty that the natural wood color can bring to your space.

In this bathroom, a traditional oak dresser is turned into a brand-new bathroom vanity with polished brass knobs and seagrass decorated pulls. The contrast of wood against polished stone tile brings a charming elegance to the bathroom achieved by the combination of natural materials. It’s clear that this large wood accent steals the show with its raw appearance, ability to add balance to the space, and simplistic design.

An intense contrast with matte black, the wooden cabinets in this kitchen are featured in the limelight and also pair beautifully with other polished elements like glossy stone countertops. Leather dining chairs in a similar color to the natural wood complement the round dining table while allowing the eye to appreciate all of the beauty of the simple wood colors in this interior design.
